On February 1, 2018, Equity Forward and Campaign for Accountability, represented by American Oversight, filed Freedom of Information Act lawsuits against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services seeking records from the Office of Refugee Resettlement regarding the efforts to prevent unaccompanied immigrant minors from exercising their constitutional right to abortion.

On February 1, 2018, CfA announced that the Supreme Court of Georgia is scheduled to hear oral arguments on Monday, February 5, 2018, in CfA’s case against the Consumer Credit Research Foundation, a payday lending nonprofit that funded a favorable academic study by a professor at Kennesaw State University.

On January 25, 2018, CfA asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate whether Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and/or staff of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, acting at his direction, violated House ethics rules by leaking confidential information provided to the committee during the course of its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Campaign for Accountability filed a new petition in the 21st Circuit Court in St. Louis County, Missouri asking the court to unseal the divorce records of Andrew Puzder, President Trump’s unsuccessful first nominee for Secretary of Labor. Press reports indicate the White House is again considering Puzder, who denied allegations that he abused his ex-wife, for a role in the Trump administration after he withdrew his name from consideration for Labor Secretary last year.

On December 7, 2017, the Kansas City Star reported Missouri Governor Eric Greitens and his senior staff use the phone-based app Confide, which deletes messages after they have been read, and prevents recipients from saving them.

On December 7, 2017, Campaign for Accountability released a report highlighting the findings of its year-long investigation into the unscrupulous sales practices of the rooftop solar industry. CfA’s investigation found consumers filed more complaints against SolarCity and Vivint Solar than any other company.

On November 29, 2017, Campaign for Accountability called on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to investigate whether Office of Management and Budget ("OMB") Director Mick Mulvaney violated the Anti-deficiency Act by directing OMB staff to perform work for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

On November 27, 2017, CfA filed a lawsuit in the District Court of Oklahoma County against Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter and Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector Gary Jones for failing to release copies of audits and documents related to corruption allegations associated with the management of the Tar Creek Reclamation site in the state.

On November 16, 2017, Campaign for Accountability asked Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz to investigate whether Rupert Murdoch, in conjunction with White House officials, has been attempting to interfere with the Department of Justice’s review of the AT&T/Time Warner merger.

On November 9, 2017, Campaign for Accountability, asked Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey to open an investigation into the Attleboro Women’s Health Center, which masquerades as an abortion clinic, but is actually part of a pro-life organization that actively tries to deceive women seeking abortion-related services
