On December 7, 2017, Campaign for Accountability released a report highlighting the findings of its year-long investigation into the unscrupulous sales practices of the rooftop solar industry. CfA’s investigation found consumers filed more complaints against SolarCity and Vivint Solar than any other company.

"Now, that decision is coming into new light as many Oklahomans clamor for the audit to be released, suggesting that its revelations will prove embarrassing to Inhofe, who played a key role in designing the buyout plan, and cast doubt on Pruitt’s decision not to move forward with charges. Last week, a Washington, D.C., nonprofit called the Campaign for Accountability raised the stakes even further, filing suit in Oklahoma courts to force the release of the audit."

"The Campaign for Accountability on Wednesday asked Congress to investigate Mulvaney over having OMB staff perform work for CFPB, despite being paid for a separate purpose."

On November 29, 2017, Campaign for Accountability called on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to investigate whether Office of Management and Budget ("OMB") Director Mick Mulvaney violated the Anti-deficiency Act by directing OMB staff to perform work for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

"CfA alleges that Hunter and Jones failed to release copies of audits and documents related to corruption allegations associated with the management of the Tar Creek Reclamation site in the state."

“We’ve been tracking Zinke and what he’s been doing at the Department of Interior,” says Daniel Stevens, executive director of the nonprofit, nonpartisan Campaign for Accountability. “It led us to look into whether he’s violated any rules or laws.”

On November 27, 2017, CfA filed a lawsuit in the District Court of Oklahoma County against Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter and Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector Gary Jones for failing to release copies of audits and documents related to corruption allegations associated with the management of the Tar Creek Reclamation site in the state.

The complaints, filed by angry customers, reveal how rooftop solar companies exploit consumers – especially low-income and elderly homeowners. Federal regulators have taken notice: The Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating whether rooftop solar companies are playing by the rules."

On November 16, 2017, Campaign for Accountability asked Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz to investigate whether Rupert Murdoch, in conjunction with White House officials, has been attempting to interfere with the Department of Justice’s review of the AT&T/Time Warner merger.
