"As the summer wraps up, budget debates in Lansing continue. One contentious item of debate is Michigan’s continued funding of Real Alternatives to run the Michigan Parenting and Pregnancy Support Program. The program is supposed to offer women alternatives to abortion by providing pregnancy support and assistance to new parents. Yet, the numbers of abortions performed in Michigan have remained consistent throughout the program’s six-year existence."

"Ms. Everett’s first application for Title X funding was made together with California’s Obria Group. Like the Heidi Group, Obria is led by one woman on a religious crusade, Kathleen Eaton Bravo, and first sought local funds (which it has been accused of misdirecting) before turning its attention to Title X."

"Alice Huling, counsel for the [...] government watchdog Campaign for Accountability, told the Guardian that these centers may be trying to pull in pregnant women searching for information about their options."

On September 5, 2019, CfA renewed its request to Michigan government officials to investigate and terminate the state’s contract with Real Alternatives, an anti-abortion nonprofit organization that receives state funding to run the Michigan Parenting and Pregnancy Support Program.

"The group positions itself as 'holistic and anti-hormones,' Alice Huling, counsel for the Campaign for Accountability, an anti-corruption watchdog group that has produced a report on Obria, told Vox. 'That is obviously something that has general appeal well beyond folks who have the same narrow view of reproductive rights and birth control access.'"

"Current and former members of the administration have expressed opposition to birth control, and one of only three new recipients of Title X grants this year is a Catholic-affiliated group that does not provide contraception beyond guidance on the so-called rhythm method."

"Alice Huling, counsel at the Campaign for Accountability, [an] ethics watchdog and Google critic, said Google’s policy change had not given enough thought to the ways in which users use the search engine."

On August 5, 2019, CfA filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) seeking an investigation into a PAC operated by the Susan B. Anthony List, and a conservative marketing firm, The Lukens Company.  The PAC, the Susan B. Anthony List Inc. Candidate Fund, appears to have violated the Federal Election Campaign Act and FEC regulations by filing inaccurate campaign finance reports and accepting an illegal corporate contribution from The Lukens Company.

"'Femm’s program is based upon a particular religious ideology that forbids birth control and instead promotes fertility awareness, one of the least effective methods for avoiding pregnancy,' said Alice Huling, counsel for the [...] watchdog group Campaign for Accountability, which pushes for greater access to reproductive health services."
