CfA Request to HHS Inspector General to Investigate Refugee Resettlement Director’s Unlawful and Abusive Conduct of Unaccompanied, Pregnant Immigrant Minors

On October 20, 2017, Campaign for Accountability asked the Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to investigate whether Office of Refugee Resettlement Director Scott Lloyd broke federal law by abusing his position and government resources to prevent unaccompanied pregnant immigrant minors from having legal abortions and to coerce some into continuing their pregnancies against their will.

CfA Complaints Against the Heidi Group

On September 26, 2017, Campaign for Accountability filed a complaint with Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore requesting an investigation into whether the Heidi Group, an anti-abortion nonprofit based in Texas, violated criminal law by misappropriating taxpayer funds. In addition, CfA filed a complaint against the group with the IRS.

Letter Requesting DOJ Investigation of Interior Department Nominee David Bernhardt for Lobbying Disclosure Violations

On July 20, 2017, Campaign for Accountability called on the U.S. Attorney for the District of Colombia to investigate whether David Bernhardt, President Trump’s nominee for Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Interior, violated the Lobbying Disclosure Act by continuing to lobby despite formally withdrawing his registration in 2016. Emails obtained through a California public records request show Mr. Bernhardt continued to advance the interests of Westlands Water District, a California agricultural entity, after terminating his lobbying registration.

Letter to FTC Requesting Investigation of Solar Panel Industry

On July 19, 2017, Campaign for Accountability asked the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to open an investigation into companies that offer residential solar panels. A review of consumer complaints filed with FTC reveals many of these companies have engaged in false and misleading acts in the marketing and sale or lease of solar panels, in apparent violation of the Federal Trade Commission Act.

CfA Complaint Against Trump Counsel Marc Kasowitz

On June 15, 2017, Campaign for Accountability (CfA) filed a complaint with the District of Columbia Bar alleging that President Donald J. Trump’s personal attorney, Marc E. Kasowitz, may have violated District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct.
