Letters Calling for Investigation of Interior Secretary David Bernhardt’s Relationship with Former Lobbying Client, Westlands Water District
On February 19, 2019, CfA called on ethics officials at the U.S. Department of the Interior and the Office of Government Ethics to investigate David Bernhardt, then-Acting Secretary of the Department of the Interior, and his relationship with his former lobbying client, Westlands Water District, an agricultural conglomerate in California. On November 12, 2019, submitted additional evidence showing now-Secretary of the Interior Bernhardt continued to work with Westlands Water District through at least July 2017, which is longer than was previously known.
