June 2, 2017 Update: Free Speech For People and Campaign for Accountability filed an additional amendment to our joint FEC complaint filed May 3, 2017. This second amendment to the complaint provides new information which has come to public light in reporting since the May 3 filing.

May 4, 2017 Update: Today, Campaign for Accountability and Free Speech For People filed an amended complaint with the Federal Election Commission demanding “an immediate investigation” into whether the Russian government illegally spent money to influence the 2016 presidential election, in possible coordination with the Trump campaign.

December 16, 2016 Original: Campaign for Accountability and Free Speech For People called on the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to immediately investigate whether the Russian government, which paid hackers to aid Donald Trump’s campaign, illegally influenced the presidential election. The Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) prohibits foreign nationals from spending money to influence American elections.
