X's removal of the blue verification mark came weeks ago after @TTP_updates and @daithaigilbert reported that X may be violating sanctions by providing premium perks for paid subscriptions. Araghchi had the blue paid mark, not the free gray one for govs.
Looks like @elonmusk took the verification check away from Iran’s foreign minister. Only result will be to generate confusion and misinformation.
TTP recently found “nudify” apps on the Apple App Store that were rated as acceptable for users as young as 9 years old. This failure to properly review and classify apps calls into question the efficacy of even stringent age verification.
