Senate Democrats are taking a renewed hard line against Donald Trump’s stake in his sprawling business empire, calling on the president-elect to divest his assets even as Trump delayed an announcement planned for this week to explain how he would untangle himself from his financial interests.

More than 20 Democrats led by Delaware Sen. Tom Carper, who is the ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, will release a letter on Tuesday warning Trump that his assets “have the potential for serious conflicts” between his personal interests and the greater public good.
