On September 4, 2019, Congressman Devin Nunes filed a too-bizarre-to-be-true lawsuit against Campaign for Accountability alleging a massive conspiracy to destroy his reputation involving an imagined set of actors including James Comey and Russian lawyers. The reality is Devin Nunes is suing CfA to deflect attention from his own shortcomings.

Last year, CfA filed three ethics complaints against Devin Nunes documenting his deplorable conduct. He apparently leaked confidential information to the media on several occasions, and he appears to have filed inaccurate financial disclosure reports with congressional authorities. Rather than defend his unethical conduct, Rep. Nunes is attacking CfA for documenting the truth.

Rep. Nunes’s lawsuits is obviously baseless and without merit. Numerous independent observers have questioned his understanding of the legal system. Nevertheless, CfA must vigorously defend itself by answering these false accusations.
